Arium Festival Installation
A movable canopy proposed as part of a music and architectural design festival that can be dismantled and transported to other locations.
The design is based on the architecture that a Roman canopy used to cover the seating area of an amphitheatre, also known as a velarium. In its time the canopy would have protected spectators from the sun, but its main function was to provide a ventilation updraft which created a cool circulated breeze. This idea has been reinterpreted as a movable rotating canopy that would form a beacon and meeting point in a busy festival environment. The architectural installation is injected with a spectrum of colour, forming an elegant array of tones when in motion.
The colourful artistic installation at the festival is a true spectacle that captures the imagination of all who attend. The installation is a large canopy made up of a series of colourful ribbons, hanging overhead and creating an immersive environment that is both beautiful and enchanting.
As visitors walk beneath the canopy, they are transported to a world of vibrant colours and artistic expression. The installation has been designed to create a sense of wonder and excitement, and it certainly does not disappoint. The ribbons sway in the breeze, creating a mesmerizing dance of colour and light.
The installation also acts as a communal gathering place, bringing festival-goers together in a shared experience of beauty and creativity. Visitors are able to come together and enjoy the installation as a community, sharing in the wonder and joy it brings.
The canopy is an example of the transformative power of art, as it creates a space that is both visually stunning and emotionally uplifting. It is a reminder of the importance of beauty and creativity in our lives, and a testament to the impact that art can have on our communities.
